This weeks Coffee at the Museum will feature Andrew Kota, executive director of Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina, a nationally accredited land trust based in Morganton. Kota joined the conservancy in 2005 as an AmeriCorps Project Conserve member. He has more than 17 years experience in natural resource protection and ecological research. Andrew combines his years of experience with the land trust, passion for conservation, and aptitude for leadership, to guide the organization and its professional staff in its mission to protect our region’s natural and cultural resources, public parks, trails and open spaces. He is a commissioner with the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, which operates a national program to build and recognize strong land trusts, foster public confidence in land conservation and help ensure the long-term protection of land throughout the country. Kota holds degrees and certifications from Guilford College, Utah State University, Appalachian State University and Duke University, as well as a NC Real Estate licence.
Mr Kota will update us on recent acquisitions and future plans of the Conservancy.
