Get an in-depth look at the history of the town of Valdese 10 o’clock Thursday morning, August 30th at the History Museum of Burke County.
Laurie Johnston and Gretchen Costner will show a series of photographs detailing the history of the town. Laurie Johnston is the curator of the North Carolina Room at the Burke County Public Library and Gretchen Costner is the director of the Waldensian Heritage Museum in Valdese. Photographs will be shown documenting the history of Valdese from when the first Waldensian settlers arrived in 1893 to the present. In addition, Johnston and Costner will answer questions regarding Valdese history and Waldensian heritage.
